How to Start Fundraising
- Go to www.crowdrise.com/susiemagazine
- Click on the black FUNDRAISE FOR THIS EVENT button on the right
- Select either JOIN AS AN INDIVIDUAL or CREATE A NEW TEAM
CREATING A NEW INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNT
• Select SIGN UP (unless you are already a member of Crowdrise, then sign in)
• Enter your information and click SIGN UP (for account type, select “Personal”)
• Enter information about you’re doing so anyone who visits your page to donate can see. Click NEXT STEP.
• Upload a photo for your page. This can be a photo of you or of something else.
• Review your charity. Make sure it says The Global Orphan Project, Inc., and then select CONTINUE.
• You are done! Click GO TO MY PROJECT PAGE.
• Share your page with all your friends on Facebook, Twitter or send an email using the orange SHARE PROJECT. Make sure to explain that each donation helps teen girls in Haiti. (If you’d like a sample letter you can use as your email, visit the Resources page at openherworld.com.)
CREATING A NEW TEAM
• Select SIGN UP (unless you are already a member of Crowdrise, then sign in)
• Enter your information and click SIGN UP (for account type, select “Personal”)
• Enter information about your team and click NEXT STEP

• Invite more people to join your team using the INVITE TEAM MEMBERS button. Be sure to personalize your email and share how joining your team is a way to show Jesus’ love to teen girls in Haiti.
Helpful features on your PROJECT PAGE
• Customize your page! (Found under your profile picture: “Add/Edit Photos” and “Add/Edit Video.”)
• Add photos or video of your choice
• Edit Project Text. Introduce your team or yourself. Answer questions like: who you are and why you’re excited to help provide support for teen girls in Haiti. Share your goals and your thankfulness to donors.
• Update Status. Click the Twitter icon to connect your Twitter account (if you have one) to your team’s Crowdrise fundraising page. Follow the instructions provided.
• Donations. Click DONATIONS in the box on the right-hand side of your page. Here you will see all donors. It is a great idea to personally thank each person who makes a donation to your team. To send a thank-you, click the REPLY link next to the donation. (If it is an anonymous donation, you will not be able to send the donor a message.)
CUSTOMIZE YORU PERSONAL CROWDRISE PROFILE (OPTIONAL):
• Click on your name at the top right hand corner of the page
• Under the MY PROFILE tab you can upload a photo of yourself
• Click the MY RISE tab under the status update box to update STUFF ABOUT ME
• Click the MY CROWD tab to see who has donated to your team. You can also check donations to your team page in the DONATIONS box on the right-hand side of your page.
• Update your status by typing in your update and clicking UPDATE STATUS. To connect your Update Status box with your Twitter account, click on the Twitter icon and then follow the instructions provided.
• Specify your personal page’s settings under the MY ACCOUNT tab. (Here is where you can set your email update settings from Crowdrise.)
JOIN AN EXISTING TEAM:
• Search for the team you want to join
• Select the team you wish you to join
• Select JOIN THE TEAM on the right-hand side of the page
• Select SIGN UP (unless you are already a member of Crowdrise, then sign in)
• Enter your info and click SIGN UP (for account type, select “Personal”)
• Read the terms and conditions and select JOIN THE TEAM
• You can also set up an individual fundraising page, which will be connected to your team page
